Sony Introduces World’s First Full HD Camcorder with Built-in Projector

Handycam PJ Series Delivers Unparalleled Playback Experience
Sony Gulf today announced it has expanded its camcorder offering with the introduction of Handycam HDR-PJ series (HDR-PJ10, HDR-PJ30 and HDR-PJ50), the new innovative Handycam Projector models that incorporate a built-in high contrast projector on the outside of the three-inch flip-out LCD panel, allowing users to simply project video and photos anywhere, anytime.
The compact LED-based projector allows videos and images to be projected at up to 60–inches onto walls, ceilings or any flat surfaces and deliver a whole new way to replay favourite videos, without the need for additional cables, a television or computer. Moreover, easy playback is possible with the Highlight Playback feature.
Featuring ‘Exmor R’ technology, low light performance has improved with the Handycam PJ series. Users can experience stunning low-light sensitivity with improved image clarity on the back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor. Designed specifically for camcorders, the ‘Exmor R’ sensor relocates the photo diodes above the support circuitry, maximising the light gathering area per pixel and producing better results in low light conditions.
Additionally, the new HDR-PJ series is equipped with an Optical SteadyShot that boasts an Active Mode providing powerful shake correction at wide angles and ideal for capturing fast moving footage such as sporting events. This technology reduces the effect of hand shake to produce even smoother footage while walking or running.
Moreover, the built-in USB cable is another key feature of the PJ series models to upload videos using the Picture Motion Browser portable (PMBp) software. Alternatively, it can also be used to charge the Handycam.
The Handycam HDR-PJ10 is currently available in the UAE, while the HDR-PJ30 is scheduled to be launched shortly and will be followed by the release of HDR-PJ50 in June 2011.
