Gang of 13 cable thieves busted

The Sharjah Police have arrested a gang of 13 Pakistanis allegedly involved in stealing a number of electric cables from various warehouses in the industrial areas of Sharjah.

 

The illegal activities came to light when the gang broke into a warehouse storing electric devices after spraying chilli powder into the eyes of a guard in Al Sajja Industrial Area.

The Sharjah Industrial Area police were informed about the robbery.As a number of complaints regarding cable thefts were received at various police stations in Sharjah, the police immediately formed a team to look into the matter.

During investigation, the police managed to identify the culprits and locate them.

The gang was arrested from an accommodation in one of the industrial areas in Sharjah.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing a large quantity of cables from various warehouses in the industrial areas of Sharjah.

The Sharjah Police have urged warehouse owners to boost their security and employ more than two guards to patrol the premises and inform the police in case of any suspicious activity.
