Celebrate Centennial International Women’s Day with “A Powerful Noise”

Dubai joins countries around the world to highlight International Women’s Day

To mark the 100th International Women’s Day on 8th March 2011, inspirational Dubai-based website Amazing Women Rock and women’s networking group for entrepreneurs, Heels & Deals, will celebrate the power of women with a screening of the multi-award winning inspirational documentary, “A Powerful Noise”.   This thought-provoking film about women changing the world will be screened at The Shelter in Al Quoz on Tuesday, 8th March 2011 at 7:00pm. Admission is free, and space is limited, so registration is a must.

Starring three women in three countries, making a difference in their respective communities, ”A Powerful Noise” is an extraordinary film with a simple yet compelling message: empowering women changes communities.  The tender and beautifully filmed documentary tells the tragic, yet also achingly hopeful stories of Bui My Hahn, a Vietnamese AIDS prevention advocate who is herself HIV positive, Nada Markovic, a Bosnian war survivor turned community activist, and Jacqueline Dembele (aka Madame Urbain), who fights forced labor practices and illiteracy in the slums of Bamako, Mali.
