Dulsco and Ikat win in Ramadan T20
An all-round performance by Azhar Nasir and a fine batting display by Ghulam Rasool saw hosts Dulsco SC score an emphatic second victory in the Dulsco Ramadan T20 being played in Dubai.
In a Group B match played on Friday night, Dulsco defeated Emrill by six wickets. Batting first Emrill set a victory target of 139 for the hosts which they achieved in half way in the 14th over.
Now Dulsco SC will fight for the first spot in Group C with Merlin CC when they clash on August 8.
Electing to take the strike first, Emrill lost their opener on one with Darshana returning back after facing one ball which he failed to judge.
The other opener, Rashid Ali scored 35 to give some order to Emrill innings but could not put his mind to carry on and convert his start to big score.
Rifatullah Shah then added 35 from 31 balls and hit one six and two fours as he remained not out. Shabaz Hussain added a 25-ball unbeaten 34 and reached the boundary twice and over it once as they set up a reasonable target for the hosts.
Azhar Nasir bagged two wickets for 41 runs while Ismail Khan also claimed two for 15 for the hosts. Govinda picked up one for 21.
Ghulam Rasool gave Dulsco a perfect start as he and his partner Azhar Nasir put on 87 runs for the opening wicket. Rasool hit a hurricane 64 from 25 balls which included nine sixes while Azhar scored a 21-ball 32 which included one towering six. Umar hit an unbeaten 17 from eight deliveries with two sixes to help Dulsco score their second successive victory and assure themselves of a place in the knock-out quarter-finals.
Gayan claimed two wickets for 14 runs while Shabaz and Darshana picked up one wicket each for 27 and 50 runs respectively.
