Afridi steam past nationals

Afridi CC thumped UAE nationals team by eight wickets in a low-scoring match in the 4th Al Dhaid Ramadan Tournament 2012 played under lights at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village.

 

It was some effective bowling from Afridi CC bowlers who maintained a tidy line to put the UAE National team under pressure.

UAE National won the toss and opting to bat first, lost wickets in quick succession as Afridi CC’s Rashid Latif and Mohammed Waseem plucked the top order claiming two each. From five for one, they lost another three on 27. It was too much UAE National batsmen to handle as they could never recover from here to be bundled out for a modest 59 in 15 overs.

Only UAE player Mohammed Tauqeer who scored 13, crossed the double-figure with the rest of the batsmen completely falling apart.

Man of the match Riaz Khalid ran through the lower order to pick three wickets in his four overs conceding just 13 runs while Zaheer Ahmed, Lathif and Waseem scalped two each.

Afridi CC beat UAE National by eight wickets. UAE National: 59 for all out in 15 overs (Mohammed Tauqeer 13; Riaz Khalid 3 for 13, Mohammed Waseem 2 for 11, Zaheer Ahmed 2 for 6). Afridi CC: 60 for 2 wickets in 7.1 overs (Shaheer Ahmed 28 not out, Riaz Khalid 15 not out; Fahad Al Hashmi 2 for 30). Man of the Match: Riaz Khalid of Afridi CC.
