Yogi Group and defending champions Mulk Holdings, formerly Eurocon Alubond, kept it late before coming away with last-ball thrillers in Abu Dhabi cricket’s season-opening Al Aqili Ramadan Twenty20 Trophy at the Shaikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium.

Ayoub Inayat held it together to fire a last-ball thriller against debutants Wings XI to keep Yogi Group’s unbeaten run intact in a Group D fixture. Yogi Group won the game by five wickets.

Meanwhile, Mulk Holdings conjured a one-run win over Seven Seas Strikers to score their second victory in Group A.

Batting first, Wings XI were all out for 104 in 18.2 overs with Mohammed Rameez snapping up five wickets for just seven runs. Ambey Parwatkar took two for seven. Mohammed Nabi top scored for Wings XI with 35.

In reply, Yogi Group were off to a slow start with openers Salman Faris and Shaimon Anwar unusually subdued as they took them to 12 in five overs. Faris made five from 15 balls, while Anwar scored nine from 21 balls. Yogi Group were tottering at 35 for three. Inayat, who came in at No.5, made a crucial and unbeaten 41 to take Yogi Group to victory off the last ball.
