LuLu’s date festival begins

The annual date festival organised by the LuLu Hypermarkets group in association with the Ministry of Environment and Water was kicked off in a traditional style at the LuLu Hypermarket in Abu Dhabi’s Mushriff Mall..

The fourth edition of the date festival marked the holy month of Ramadan with 100 of varieties of dates for Ramadan shoppers. The month-long festival will run simultaneously throughout Ramadan in all LuLu Hypermarkets across the UAE.

The LuLu Date Festival promises to make Ramadan extra memorable for everybody.

While for date aficionados, it is sure to be a mega experience, as they will be able to choose from over a 100 different varieties of dates spanning the entire taste and price spectrum. Among the choice varieties of dates available will be popular favourites like Khalas, Khanezi, Lulu, Berhi, Kasab, Sheshi, Amber, Fard and Sukkari, among others.

“Dates have always been an integral part of UAE culture and this festival will showcase the choicest dates from across the UAE,” Yusuff Ali said.

“The festival is one of our major events as more than hundred varieties of dates from around the world as well as from the farm in the UAE will be made available during this period. We are also committed to promoting UAE farmers and their products,” he added.

Apart from fresh and dry dates, the festival will also offer various date products and date -based food items in the hot food and bakery section of all LuLu hypermarkets. A larger number of residents were seen enjoying different varieties of dates and its products right after the inauguration.
