Sponsorships form a natural part of the Hackett profile, with its ability to provide kit for an array of sporting events with in the British Sporting & Social Calendar, as well as providing sartorially appropriate outfits for those who prefer to be a spectator.
Rowing
The Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race, Henley Royal Regatta and the Head of the River are all woven into the rich tapestry of British Heritage. Hackett has confirmed its support for this tradition by sponsoring one of London's oldest rowing clubs, The London Rowing Club.
The club has always offered rowing of the highest standards for both locals and those moving to London from around the country, especially those from Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
In line with Hackett’s propensity to provide clothing for every occasion throughout the year, sporting or otherwise, it is a natural fit for Hackett to be an Official Clothing Supplier for The Boat Race, the most famous river race in the world and a truly British institution.
During the sponsorship weekend, international press got the unique experience to have a lesson with the Oxford University Rowing Club in Wallingford on the River Thames. The unlikely crew were taught to Row by some of the finest international rowers and OUBC coaches.
Polo
Often quoted as the sport ‘played’ by kings, Hackett’s association with polo is well known and immortalised in the now, iconic Hackett Polo Shirt. From humble beginnings of providing shirts for the Guard's Polo Team, Hackett has established a long term association with the British Army Polo Team and the Hackett Rundle Cup.
For the 8th year running the Hackett Rundle Cup took place between the Army and Navy polo teams, a match that goes back many years and is one of the fiercest rivalries in Polo. Tidworth Polo Club offers a spectacular backdrop to the proceedings (even in the rain!) with a real family atmosphere.
Aston Martin Racing
Hackett is also proud to be the Official Clothing Partner of the Aston Martin Racing Team, winners of the coveted Le Mans Series and a perpetual presence since 2005 at the world’s most famous endurance race and truly British phenomena abroad, the 24 Heure du Mans.
At the AMR driving experience in Millbrook, editors got the chance to drive a number of current Aston Martin road cars including the Virage, Rapide, Vantage S and the very fast V12 Vantage over course made famous by James Bond in Casino Royale...none of the guests managed to roll the car quite like Daniel Craig!
