X-Doria rout La Miglang
DUBAI — After getting the early boot in the previous season, X-Doria Mobile Covers opened their campaign in Season 3 of the Kabayan Basketball Association with a 76-54 win over La Miglang, a press release said.
Four X-Doria dribblers scored in double figures. Veteran player Jeff Capati got 20 points, Mark Anthony Santos scored 17, Kriz Gaas got 10 and the newly-acquired Val Evangelista scored 10.
The duo of Capati and Santos led X-Doria’s offensive attack in the third quarter. Capati terrorised the inside paint while Santos burned the hoop from the three-point area to give X-Doria a big 17-point margin — 56-39 — going into the last quarter.
X-Doria maintained their momentum in the fourth period and cruised to victory in their initial outing with a big margin.
“We added more experienced players in our roster and I hope we can continue our good start,” X-Doria coach Nestor Licudan said. In other games, DXB-Chargers defeated Al Shumookh 73-48; Lion Hearts beat DXB-Trojans 62-55; APPL defeated CML 67-52; and Hotshots beat Protocol 58-53.
