Dubai Taxi inks MoU with Dar Al Ber Society to promote charitable activities

The Dubai Taxi Corporation ( DTC ) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dar Al Ber Society for one year renewable in the context of its endeavours to promote charitable activities, support the social & humanitarian drive, and raise the awareness & values of social solidarity among the communities of the UAE.
The MoU was signed by the Acting CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation Mansour Al Falasi, and the Board Member and Head of Local Affairs Sector of Dar Al Ber Society Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi in the presence of several officials from both parties. Dar Al Ber Society will raise funds and receive the amounts agreed upon with Dubai Taxi Corporation , which were collected from employees and cabdrivers, in the form of monthly transfers, contributions of periodic campaigns, or the proceeds of fund raising boxes distributed within the premises and facilities of the DTC as per the applicable procedures in order to deposit them in a Fund set for implementing charitable activities inside and outside the UAE.
"According to the MoU, it has been agreed to mention the DTC on the website of the Society as a strategic partners/sponsor as per the approved partnership standards, publicize the initiatives & events of projects undertaken or completed as News items of the website, FaceBook and Twitter accounts of the Society via a program dedicated to the Society broadcasted by Noor Dubai Radio Station. The Society will sponsor some DTC activities during the validity of the MoU, and place a special electronic device for fund raising in the premises of the DTC .
"The DTC is committed to publishing internal memos to familiarize and urge employees as well as cabbies to interact with the projects underway, making press releases about the implemented & completed initiatives & events by the end of the year, or about each project of a different nature, providing necessary coordination & support for the success of the Society's initiatives, and promoting its ads on DTC taxicabs.
"Coordination will be made with the Society for the launch of its religious call project (Let them learn more about Islamic jurisprudence) in a bid to embed the righteous belief in the hearts of Muslims and disseminate the proper teachings & conduct under the mutual missions of both parties towards supporting the cause of Islam. In this context courses, religious lessons and sermons will be held by leading preachers in the Society with the involvement of the Islamic Information Center in the provision of courses and lessons for different nationalities. Copies of the Holy Quran will be distributed together with guided pamphlets, brochures and CDs to everyone, and the Society will participate in judging the competitions for Memorizing the holy Quran sponsored by DTC .
"We will work hand in hand with the Society to implement the Month of Goodness project during the holy month of Ramadan with the aim of cementing the spirit of cooperation and brotherhood between Muslims through hosting a DTC representative in the program designated for the Society on Noor Dubai Television for one hour to speak about the projects completed and their significance in supporting charitable initiatives. Every year, the two parties will be keen to explore new projects with the aim of lending support to needy families through signing a contract for implementing the annual project such that it comprises full details of the cost and phases of the project along with a report about the funds raised for the project and forward them to the DTC . The Society will supply the DTC with the data confirming the successful completion of the project, lend support to DTC employees & taxis, and sponsoring their solidarity funds," added Al Falasi.
For his part Suhail Al Muhairi, welcomed the signing of the MoU, saying: "The Society is keen on supporting this constructive cooperation with the Dubai Taxi Corporation ; which is a key sponsor of the Society's project, as envisaged in this MoU in a bid to promote our mutual efforts towards promoting charitable & humanitarian activities." He concluded his remark by commending the DTC efforts and initiatives launched at the start of the holy month.
