Dubai Public Prosecution received over 50,000 cases in 2011 : annual report
Out of its commitment to transparency and corporate values, Dubai Public Prosecution (DPP) has issued its annual report for 2011 for the fifth running year which featured strategic objectives, organizational structure, performance indicators, services and programs, activities and events, external participation and responsibility.Yousuf Hassan Al Mutawa, acting Attorney General, said performance had exceeded the expected targets set by strategic objectives.
He noted that accurate investigations and indictment indicator rose to 97.3% against the target of 95%, and speedy investigation of international extradition requests took 2.5 days while the set target was 9 days. Speedy investigation and disposition were achieved in 12.3 days instead of 19 days.
According to him, cases received by DPP as specialized prosecutions totaled 54,851 most of them were misdemeanor. Deira Dubai Prosecution received the largest number of cases at 22,022, followed by Bur Dubai Prosecution at 19,827 and Traffic Prosecution at 7,680.
Percentage of e-transformation remained at 88% while Percentage of e-transformation was 100%.
DPP offers a bouquet of distinctive services through modern electronic channels aimed at achieving the vision of the Government of Dubai to build a technology and knowledge based environment. Miscellaneous services are available on mobile devices (I-Phone and the I-Pad), as they vary in accordance with different targets desired to be reached including the services for the members of Public Prosecution, lawyers in addition to other services for the public and external customers.
Other services include registration of power of attorney for lawyers, e-payment, UAE laws on the I-pad and case inquiry through mobile phones.
