UAE backs OIC’s call for protecting Myanmar Muslims
The UAE on Friday supported the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s call for an international action to protect Muslims in Myanmar and to prevent their killing and displacement.
In a telephonic talk with OIC Secretary-General Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, UAE Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the plight of Muslims in Myanmar. He stressed the need for an emergency meeting of the UN’s Human Right Council to discuss the situation and to take decisive measures in this regard.
