‘City must dominate European football’
Kiki Musampa has warned Manchester City’s rivals for the Premier League title next season that his old club are set to dominate English and European football.

“Winning only one time and then not winning again doesn’t really make a lot of sense, so it’s obvious they have to dominate, especially in Europe as well,” said Musampa, who is representing Ajax at the Dubai Indoor Football Championship here at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
“The whole squad is amazing. If a player is out, another one comes in and he’s of equal — or even better — quality, so they have big quality players and a very calibrated squad. That’s what makes them stronger than the rest.
“City is a big club and they have a lot of supporters. It’s not a small club, but — to win the championship — you need investors and a lot of money behind you to make it happen.
“That’s what they’ve got now and I’m happy that they did make it happen.”
‘Chris’, as he is affectionately known among the Civilians’ faithful, also insists City’s emergence provides a refreshing change to recent times that saw Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool dominate the four UEFA Champions League spots available.
“It’s great for English football that there’s a new top side coming up,” said Musampa, who spent two seasons on loan at Etihad Stadium between 2004 and 2006.
“They’ve shown the world that they’re a big team now and that they can also win the championship, so it’s not only about the usual big clubs.
“Everybody has to watch out for City as well and that makes the league even more exciting.”
