Ramani in top form

The South African edition of the Maxtalent Global Challenge Cup got under way in style as Team Maxtalent Global defeated Wattsville Cricket club by seven wickets in Johannesburg, a press release said.

 

This tournament is played in a 50 over format with four teams — Wattcville Cricket Club, KWA Thema Cricket Club, EG Jansen School and overseas team Maxtalent Global — participating.

Maxtalent Global elected to field first. Expectations were high but they fell prey to some great pace bowling from Kapil Ramani who took five wickets giving away only 10 runs in his spell of five overs. Sibusisco Z and Sibusisco S, who opened the batting for Wattsville CC, played with caution.

The Sibusisco brothers made 11 and 8 respectively but the rest of the team failed to help the team put up a fighting total.

Skipper Jay Joshi opened the innings along with Kapil Ramani and together they put on a partnership of 46 runs with their intelligent batting. Jay scored 21 off 20 balls and Kapil managed 12 off 12 balls before both were dismissed.

Tarun Kumar and Faisal Khan managed to finish the game off without any further hiccups. brief scores
