This year’s Sharjah Ramadan Festival, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), will begin on July 18.

The festival, which will continue till August 25, includes family entertainment activities with the participation of a number of government and private sector organisations.

Addressing a Press conference on Tuesday, Mohammed Ahmed Amin, Assistant Director-General for Economic and International Affairs at the SCCI and General Coordinator of the festival, said that a range of religious and entertainment programmes will be organised in several locations as part of the festival. These include religious seminars and lectures on topics related to the spirit of Ramadan.

He added that the SCCI is making efforts to achieve the vision of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in strengthening the emirate’s position on top in various fields by supporting its activities of encouraging the private sector.

Amin pointed out that the organising committee of the festival is working hard to ensure the success of the festival in collaboration with various government departments and institutions.

He pointed out that the idea of the festival began 23 years ago and it has achieved remarkable success over the years and contributed significantly on enhancing the status of the emirate.

“The festival also contributed to achieving goals in trade promotion and economic and tourism activities in the emirate by providing incentives and support for participants and visitors,” he said.

The Sharjah Ramadan Festival is one of the oldest promotional, marketing and entertainment festivals in the region.
