Fatima approves winners of Arab Youth award

Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and the Family Development Foundation, on Tuesday approved results of Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for Arab Youth in its first edition.

 

The winners will be announced on Friday during the 32nd International Arab Youth Conference which starts on Thursday in Petra, Jordan. Jury of the three-category award had received 248 entries from various Arab countries, but only 113 qualified. The categories are Globally Influential Arab Youth category, Excellence Arab Youth category and Leading Organisation in Supporting Arab Youth Issues category.

The award, for the youth in the age group of 14 to 17, aims at deepening the sense of pride, self-praise, affiliation and loyalty to the homeland and the Arab World; celebrating and honouring the Arab youth’s capabilities and innovations on the international level; highlighting the importance of building and developing the Arab youth’s individual competencies to the highest international standards.

Winner of the first category will be granted a trophy and an appreciation certificate in addition to a cash reward of $20,000; six winners of the second category will be each granted a trophy and an appreciation certificate in addition to a cash reward of $10,000; three winner institutions of the third category will be each granted a trophy and an appreciation certificate.
