The 19th century colonial-style building faces the magnificent Gulf of Thailand. It is fully integrated in its generous and preserved environment of lush gardens and white sand beaches. Guests can unwind completely at the spa and also attend Taï Chi and Qi Qong lessons on the beach to refocus and breathe.

The new rooms and suites provided the same sense of luxury as the original building. The rooms are spacious, have private balconies and views of either the exotic gardens or the sea.

To prolong the experience, La Veranda Resort offers guests a unique getaway on its very own private desert island. The trip starts on PhuQuoc’s south quay. After a 40-minute boat ride across the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand – one of the world’s largest marine sanctuaries – guests lunch on a white sand beach, sampling fresh fish and seafood caught off PhuQuoc. Then, they are taught to snorkel and can admire the many multicoloured fish that live in the coral reef.

La Résidence Hue named one of Asia’s 20 best resorts by readers of Conde Nast Traveller

La Résidence hotel was built in 1930 as the official residence of the French colonial governor. It has been painstakingly restored to preserve its unique architecture and environment.
Today, La Résidence has 122 rooms and suites and two hectares of grounds. The art deco designs of the 1920s to 1950s invite guests to journey into the nostalgia of the past. La Résidence overlooks Hue’s Flag Tower and Imperial City which is a UNESCO world heritage site. In Hue, the colonial atmosphere is never far off and the spirit of the 1930s is carefully protected at La Résidence.
The hotel is located on the southern bank of the Perfume River which is an ideal starting point for guests to visit the Imperial City by bicycle, journey to the dynasty tombs by boat, and discover the citadel and pagodas. This summer, room rates start at €119 – special offer including breakfast. |
