UAE is making strenuous efforts towards sustainable green economy and development
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is making consistent efforts to support and advance sustainable development through production of clean energy, introduction of key standards to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promotion of environmentally-friendly commodities and services, Obaid Salem Al Za'abi, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the UN in Geneva.Al Za'abi highlighted the common factors both the governments of the UAE and Switzerland share in promising trade and economic policies, environment conservation and green economy.
He also spoke about the UAE Vision 2021 on green development.
He was speaking on behalf of Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade, Al Za'abi at the second Fribourgissima conference being held this year under the theme : "New Equilibria for Future Generations".
The 2nd economic congress is held in Fribourg for the "Fribourgeoises" and "Fribourgeois" who live here or abroad, who are born here or keep Fribourg in their hearts. This congress combines famous fribourgeois names as well as international speakers . It allows reflections, meetings and exchanges between more than 400 decision-makers, business managers, senior executives, personalities of the economic, political and cultural circles including Federal Councillor Alain Berset, and Beat Vonlanthen, Minister of Economic Affairs (State Councilor), Canton Fribourg.
The UAE representative stressed the need for greater joint cooperation and exchange of expertise in technology and trade for the best interest of the two countries.
