Cyclist killed by speeding taxi in Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah: A 22-year-old cyclist was killed Wednesday evening after he was hit by a speeding taxi at the Al Dhayah area in Ras Al Khaimah. an official of the RAK Police Traffic Department said on Friday
The male victim, identified as M.J., a national of an Asian country, died instantly after he was crushed, the official said
The cab driver was placed under arrest and was referred for prosecution.
The victim’s remains were taken to the Sqar Hospital morgue.
Police said the accident was a result of negligence.
“We urge those driving motorcycles and bicycles to adhere to traffic rules and avoid driving recklessly, as they are not only endangering their lives but the lives of others as well,” a police official.
