Continuing its ascent to ever more sophisticated sartorial heights, Hackett London has created a collection tailored to the lifestyle of the modern gentleman for Autumn/Winter 2012. In addition to its mainline collections and existing affiliations with internationally renowned, iconic brands and events including the Aston Martin Racing team and the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, Hackett is proud to announce its second year as official Menswear Stylist for the 2013 BAFTA Awards.
Town and Country
Town and Country blends tradition and modernity in garments and accessories created to suit either situation. Authentic tweeds are lightened by blending with Lycra to create a garment which is easier to wear while heavy gauge cable knits are so chunky they could easily take on the role of outerwear. Colour plays a vital role by balancing the earthy palette of the country and punctuating it with flashes of blue and steely greys from a more urban environment. Hackett’s signature ‘Horse and Hound’ check is reimagined in deeper, richer tones and applied subtly as leather trims or more boldly in accessories from luggage to tablet cases. The classic Sussex tweed woven in the borders of Scotland reiterates Hackett’s commitment to provenance. The cloth holds particular importance as it was inspired by Jeremy Hackett’s love for Sussex Spaniels and the rambles they have been on together in the English countryside. To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, Hackett has created a Diamond Jubilee tweed in appropriate tones which has been applied to a wide range of limited accessories and garments, which will sell exclusively though Hackett stores.
Hackett Mayfair
Hackett’s Mayfair line is synonymous with sleek, streamlined tailoring and continues to grow with a new season of Savile Row inspired luxury styles. Echoing the sartorial street’s blend of tradition and innovation, Hackett Mayfair has developed a unique ‘mechanical stretch’ process which allows pure blend luxury fabrics and sharp tailoring a greater degree of movement. The slim Hackett Mayfair silhouette is repeated throughout the collection with an emphasis placed on experimenting with colour and pattern especially in checks. To further reinforce Hackett Mayfair’s luxury status, a series of formalwear pieces has been designed to celebrate the BAFTA Awards, including a turned cuff double-breasted dinner jacket.
Alpine
Hackett’s signature style makes the transition to snowier climes with Alpine. Perfectly capturing the essence of winter sophistication and adventure, it is best summarised as luxurious après ski wear and reinforces Hackett’s partnership with the increasingly popular Klosters Snow Polo tournament. The colour palette is classic and easy to wear with flashes of winter white and tones of camel and chocolate. Fabrications are highly indulgent with Hackett using the finest cashmere in knitwear keeping you warm while you relax in snowier climes
Modern Prep
The classic collegiate life and its traditional uniform provide the starting point for this story which is reinforced by Hackett’s sponsorship of the iconic Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. Duffel coats and striped scarves have been given the Hackett treatment through playful tweaks to proportions and silhouettes instantly evoking images of campus life. Style details are shrunk with cropped, narrow trousers and small bow ties. Fairisle and patterned lambswool knits lend themselves to layering, a trend that is firmly advocated in this particular story. Rich claret, bottle green and navy tones are mixed and matched with brighter colours to guarantee a contemporary feel and exemplify the Modern Prep’s pervading design ethos of creating ‘re-engineered classics’.
Aston Martin Racing
The unique shared values between two quintessentially British brands that epitomise luxury, quality, tradition and modernity have resulted in a natural relationship that has spanned seasons. The Aston Martin Racing by Hackett range takes all of the qualities for which Hackett has become renowned and adds the superlative performance and state of the art innovations from Aston Martin Racing while taking direct influence from their design aesthetic. Base shades of magnesium, charcoal and pearl grey are accented with midnight navy and royal red as the range this season is slicker, sleeker and more advanced than ever before.
