Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution has concluded its Student Continuous Awareness Program for the academic year 2011-2012. The Program executed by the Family Prosecution in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Education Council in accordance with the partnership agreement between the two parties.

According to the program, specialist teams from the Family Prosecution have been visiting public and private schools in the Emirate to lecture students as well as teachers and administrators on the behaviors types that constitute violations of law.

In its second year, the program included field visits to 19 schools. In addition to administrators and teachers, the total of 1135 students of grades 7 to 12 attended the workshops. Lectures allowed students to interact with the specialists to speak about their ideas about the role of laws and regulations in their life and their perceptions of behaviors that constitute misdemeanors or crimes.

To maximize benefit from the Program, each visit was followed by a survey of the opinion of students, teachers and school administrators. Total percentage of respondents’ satisfaction with the Program reached 90 per cent.

Based on the surveys’ results, the Family Prosecution has already started the development of the Program’s schedule in 2012-2013. The next year will have more visits. Furthermore, parents will be invited to attend workshops to create synergy. Lecture will focus on behaviors inside and outside schools.
