Sharjah Islamic Bank signs a cooperation agreement with University Hospital Sharjah

Sharjah Islamic Bank has signed a cooperation agreement with the University Hospital Sharjah to offer financing packages to patients, making it possible to pay treatment fees to the University Hospital in convenient installments. The signing ceremony was attended by Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, and Dr Omar Abdul Hamid, Consultant of His Highness Ruler of Sharjah for Higher Education Affairs, who signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations in presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, said, "Signing this agreement with the University Hospital Sharjah acts in support of educational and healthcare efforts, alike, in line with the vision of H.H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who pays a special attention to both sectors. The agreement is, also, consistent with the bank's eagerness to perform its national role and social responsibility in the Emirate, as part of a long term plan to cooperate with government and semi-government institutions in the emirate of Sharjah".

"As a bank that represents the Islamic bank's ethical and humanitarian values and principles which aims at establishing active community participation and social development in all sectors, the Sharjah Islamic Bank has reached a new height in its cooperation with various leading institutions by signing this strategic agreement with the University Hospital. The agreement will contribute to upgrading the bank's efforts in serving community and nation, which we consider true the spirit of Islamic banking that we have aspired to implement since the inception of the bank," he added.

Abdullah clarified, "As per the agreement, financing for treatment services at the University Hospital will be available at a competitive rate to all UAE nationals and residents who are working in government and semi-government sectors or in companies approved by the bank.

Clients who need to get finance from the bank are required to present a quotation letter from the hospital to the bank, indicating the details of treatment fees in need of financing." Dr Omar Abdul Hamid, the Consultant of His Highness Ruler of Sharjah for Higher Education Affairs, said, "This agreement with the Sharjah Islamic Bank aims at facilitating the needs of patients and optimizing the hospital's medical services. University Hospital is the direct result of the attention paid by H.H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi to education in the country, in general, and Sharjah, in particular, and his eagerness to develop healthcare services to the highest international standards.
