The Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (Dewa) showcased its latest campaigns during a workshop last week, held under the umbrella of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) to present its overall strategies on energy conservation initiatives and progress by government entities.

The workshop supported Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 formulated by the DSCE to achieve a 30 per cent reduction in energy consumption by 2030, as part of its continuous efforts to spread awareness on conservation initiatives. The workshop took place at Emirates Towers hotel and was attended by representatives from the Executive Council, the Ruler’s Court, the Dubai Airports Free Zone Authority (Dafza), the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and the Regulatory and Supervisory Bureau.

“Our conservation and resource-sustainability strategy goes in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the national long-term initiative launched by Shaikh Mohammed under the theme, “Green Economy for Sustainable Development,” which aims to foster sustainable development in Dubai and the UAE for generations to come,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of the DSCE and MD and CEO of Dewa.

“By participating in this meeting, Dewa is maintaining its close ties with the Supreme Council of Energy, which is pioneering initiatives in conservation and sustainability,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, VP of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Dewa.
