Dubai International Holy Quran Award honors DEWA
Dubai, UAE – 22 May, 2012-: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received Ibrahim Mohammed Bumelha, Advisor on Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs to HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai), and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award. Bumelha praised the services and achievements made by DEWA as well as its leading social role in promoting UAE society in different areas.
The two sides discussed collaboration between DEWA and the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award as one of the activities that serve the Holy Qur’an all over the world. Also, Al Tayer briefed Bumelha on DEWA’s experiences and current projects under development to achieve the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Bumelha was briefed about DEWA’s history and the different stages of expansion it has undergone and its important role to date.
Bumelha praised the important role of DEWA and the top-quality services it delivers to society and all the residents of the Emirate; both nationals and expatriates. Also, Al Tayer highlighted the outreach efforts made by DEWA through different media to spread awareness and educate people about the best ways to use services delivered to them in a way that benefits everyone. Bumelha praised DEWA’s role in serving society as well as its leading role in providing electricity and water at international levels of efficiency and reliability.
Al Tayer praised the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award, which has made significant milestones and achieved great success to make it a remarkable example to follow in serving the Holy Qur’an.
At the end of the meeting, Bumelha offered the Shield of the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award to Al Tayer in recognition of his efforts to serve his country and society.
The meeting was attended by Abdulraheem Hussein Ahli, Member of the Organizing Committee of the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award and Manager of Administrative and Financial Affairs, Ahmed Abdullah, Manager of External Communications at DEWA, and Arif Abdulkarim Julfar, Manager of Media and Marketing at DEWA.
