The Social Regulatory and Licensing Department at the Community Development Authority organised a networking event for all social clubs in Dubai licensed under the Authority to establish a common voice and direction for the clubs to achieve Dubai’s vision of social and community empowerment. The event also aimed at further strengthening the collaboration and participation of the social clubs in various community activities, and promotes greater transparency across all aspects of operations.
"One of the priorities of the Dubai Government under the wise and visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is to promote the welfare of all sections of the society. This requires strong collaboration between all stakeholders who are involved in the social sector. Social clubs, as the first and primary interface of various communities in the Emirate, have a huge role in ensuring that the vision of our Government is achieved" said His Excellency Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of Community Development Authority.
"One of the key objectives in organising this gathering is to enhance the process of social cohesion and promote the pillars of national identity. As of today, CDA has licensed 12 social clubs in Dubai. They are reflective of the cosmopolitan demography of the city, and together have over 40,000 members" said Dr. Omar AL Muthanna, CEO Social Regulatory and Licensing Department in CDA.
It is worth mentioning that the Social Regulatory & Licensing Department at CDA is committed to safeguarding the social care beneficiaries of Dubai by implementing and managing a progressive system. Over the past months, CDA has set up a regulatory framework for providers in the social sector, as well as implemented quality improvement programmes, besides introducing online services to facilitate the registration process for professionals and organisations working in the social sector.
