Abu Dhabi: Last season's champions Al Jazira club continued their short training camp in Doha, Qatar, to prepare for the Super Cup, the official curtain raiser of the UAE domestic professional football competitions, against neighbours and traditional rivals, Al Wahda on September 10.

Francois (Frank) Vercuateren, the club's new Belgian coach, took the squad to Qatar for the camp to get acquainted with the team as well as to prepare them for the match which will be held at Shamkha, Bani Yas club.

Though Vercuateren, who joined the club last month, watched the team perform during the recent Ramadan tournament, he did not take over from the caretaker coach.

This match will also be a first for the team's new midfielder, Abdul Rahim Juma'a, who joined his other two brothers Abdul Salam and Ahmad, who transferred from Al Wahda to Al Jazira.

"It will be a unique and important match for me. It will be the first time ever that I play against Al Wahda, but being a professional footballer I have to do my best for my new team and try to win the Super Cup," Abdul Rahim told Gulf News.
